In 1998, PTSC established a scholarship program for the purpose of affording area students the chance to further their education and grow stronger, empowered communities. PTSC is excited to have awarded over $110,000 of scholarship money to over 100 area students (some scholarships were renewed). In 2016 an endowment of over $200,000 was transferred to Community Foundations of the Ozarks to continue the legacy PTSC created.
Scholarships were previously established in the names of Megan Spence, Julie McGoldrick, Tyler Simer, Kyle Gilliam, Cynthia Holloway-Coatney, Julie Douglass, Marisa Hathcock-Spalding, Christel AraSmith-Chester, and Nathan Murphy. These continue to be awarded to students in Douglas, Howell, Wright, Oregon, Shannon, and Texas counties. Candidates are selected based on personal and leadership qualities, academic accomplishments, grade point average, financial need and community service and are open to any field of study.
PTSC feels very fortunate to have the support of many community members, businesses, and individuals who donated their time, money and energy to help us create the endowment and scholarship program.
